Sorbet Recipes
Watermelon Cranberry
based off of Alton Brown's Melon Sorbet
- 1 pound watermelon, diced, and seeded if not seedless
- 5 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
- juice from 1/2 lemon (about 3 tbs)
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tbs vodka
- Process the cranberries and the watermelon in a food processor until they are smooth
- Add lemon juice and sugar and process briefly to integrate
- Chill in the fridge for an hour
- Add to your ice-cream maker and process per manufacturer's directions. For me this means about 20-25 minutes spin time.
- Two minutes before the end, add the vodka
If you can't wait, or like it really soft, have some as you're packing it away to freeze a little harder over the next 3 to 4 hours.
